What is a “Renovation Contract” and what is the purpose?

Essentially, its about keeping everything in black and white; every single detail that was discussed with your designer. We highly advise that you list the items discussed inside the contract.
For example, the type of materials or finishing should be written in the contract in case of any future disputes.

Break down the cost for every piece of work done. Ensure that there is a cost listed beside every item and look out for work that is listed as a lump sum.


Wrong example: Hacking work for whole house = $XXXX.
Right example: Hacking of floor tiles at living room = $XXXX
Hacking and demolishing of partition wall at living room = $XXXX

Wrong example: 10 ft kitchen cabinet at kitchen = $XXXX
Right example: Fabrication and installation of 10 ft bottom kitchen cabinet with
internal color PVC with soft closing hinges = $XXXX

With such details being listed in the contract, any dispute or Article 12: Renovation contract (Work description)
